Hidradenitis suppurativa

Overview:

  • It is a condition that leads to the formation of painful granules under skin

  • blockage of hair follicles causes multiple infection

Causes:

risk factors of hidradenitis suppurativa are:

  • Age: common in second and third decades
  • Gender: most common in females
  • most common among black people
  • Obesity
  • Smoking

 

Diagnosis:

  • clinical examination

 

Treatment:

  • Medication:
  • topical or oral antibiotics
  • pain killers
  • hormonal treatment
  • immunotherapy
  • steroids
  • Surgical treatment includes:
  • Abscess drainage
  • surgical or laser removal of fistulas
  • complete removal of damaged skin.
